Guatamalan Single Origin Coffees

Guatemala is not amongst the favourite coffee producing regions for no good reason.  Elevations, climate, rainfall and surprisingly the remoteness of some of the regions which force farmers to hand process their beans themselves, lends to some of the most inviting coffee the world has to offer.

Growing Altitude: 1,200 – 1,700 meters above sea level
Arabica Variety: Bourbon, Typica, Catuai, Caturra
Harvest Period: December – April
Milling Process: Washed, Sun-dried
Aroma: Floral, Citrus
Flavor: Chocolate, Sweet, Nutty (slight)
Body: Full, Round
Acidity: Bright, Pleasant

Some coffee reviews note that a lighter acidity is found among the coffees grown in mountain areas exposed to the Caribbean (e.g. Huehuetenango and Coban) or exposed to the Pacific Ocean (e.g., San Marcos), and these coffees tend to exhibit more of a fruity acidity and flavour.

Please note that due to the cyclical and seasonal nature of coffee especially single origin coffees, as well as demand we cannot guarantee availability of all coffees all the time.  We can however guarantee that in the absence of one particular coffee there will be another one present.  Thus your need to expand your coffee horizons will always be fulfilled with us.
